In 1959, the year of Statehood for Hawaii, Eddie Sakai, the Hawaii-born son of Japanese immigrants, decided to start a printing company in Honolulu. With over 35 years of experience in all aspects of commercial printing from equipment operation to sales and marketing, Eddie wanted, first of all, to develop a successful printing company. Recognizing that inventiveness and vision had taken him far in the world, Eddie also wanted a company that thrived on innovation, opportunity and growth.

From the start, Edward Enterprises reflected the independent and adventuresome nature of Sakai, who came to be known as "the Horatio Alger of Hawaii's printing industry." To achieve and maintain a high level of quality and efficiency, the company early on invested in the latest equipment, sought training and developmental opportunities for its employees, and explored new technological advances. It paid off.
From its first year sales of $183,500 in 1959, Edward Enterprises topped $1 million a mere seven years later in 1966.
Today, Edward Enterprises is distinguished in the Aloha State as a quality commercial printer offering complete printing services to its customers. Recognizing the impact of new technology on printing in recent years, the company has enhanced its capabilities with new computer and electronic equipment, and now receives about 90% of its business electronically.
We're proud to be one of the premiere printers in Hawaii, but we cannot rely on our reputation alone. We must always keep abreast of changes in our industry to continue to provide the quality products and services our customers demand.

Innovative. Employee-owned company, computerized labor cost control system, industry leader in comprehensive commercial printing, innovator in stochastic and hi-fi color printing, fully computerized prepress.
